Management

Leadership & management come hand in hand. If leadership is about making change, management involves ‘how’ you make that change. It is something you learn throughout your life. You learn a bit about the theory in university but you will learn most out of it by executing your projects and applying the theories you learned. It is a skill you must develop not when you become the boss but it is something you learn from the first day at work.

Managerial skills include how you manage your time and resources like money and manpower. Sooner or later you have to work in a team, so even if you’re not the boss you need to take initiative to split the work amongst your team members.

It also includes learning how to plan, strategize and skillfully implement without any problems. The methods and techniques are studied by academicians for decades. Have you heard of Peter F. Drucker, Father of Modern Management? He and many others have constructed systems to help organization to manage them. Management systems like Kaizen, Six Sigma and Lean Production (or Toyota Production System) are all off-spring of understanding how management works. We as students don’t need to go to a level that high, but we can still utilize some ideas to help do our projects.

We at beyonduni.com strive to help you improve your managerial skills and provide you with the managerial tools that make your job easier. So come back soon, to see more of how we can help you manage your organization.

Be. You.
