Are you embracing Youth Leadership?

The most successful of people don’t let the environment dictate them, they dictate the environment. You see people complain that they’re not successful because of this and that? Well, the fact that they only complain shows that they’re not successful. Any change you want to do in the world always starts with you. You have to perform first. Then, people are willing to put trust into your abilities. Bottom line, you want to make change? Start with the man (or woman) in the mirror. That is what it means to be a leader, to start change yourself.

I mentioned before that I define a leader as somebody who makes changes. Everyone wants to make a change in their own life. You want be better, richer, more intelligent and etc.

In that sense you are a leader, a leader of your own life. But why stop by only being a leader of your own life? You can become a leader of other things. In the future, I am sure you will be assigned to a department or a tea. You either have to lead or be led. And eventually, to get more in life you must take a leadership responsibility.  Eventually, everyone is going to have a family. You’re going to be a parent, and that’s a leadership position. Yeah, it sounds funny, I know. But still, it’s true. So, the bottom line, everyone will become a leader, one way or another. And everyone needs to start preparing for it.

Don’t worry, I’m not asking you to become Bill Gates, there are many kind of leaders. You just need to find the leader in you, discover what type of leader you are and develop it to the best of your abilities. I’m sure it will help you in the long run.  You can Google for ‘types of leadership’, and find out yourself which types of leader you want to be.

I once talked about understanding who you want to be. That helps you in choosing what kind of leader you want to be. So, it’s related.

The best way to know, is too start being a leader straight away. And from that experience you can judge yourself. Join a student club now! And join their events and activities.
